Clear Fork Reservoir for gulls is much like Alum Creek reservoir or other reservoirs relatively near landfills. To see Lesser Black-backed or other gulls, a birder needs to be at the reservoir the last two hours of daylight before sunset. The gulls spend most of the daylight at the landfills and come into the reservoir just before dark. At other times of the day, few gulls are present. Looks like there may be only a few days left before northern Ohio reservoirs freeze, with low temperatures Tuesday night being brutal.
