There is an ebird list for Lake County, Ohio that obviously has some
problems. 32 species were supposedly seen at 8:45 P.M. on 10 December 2017.
P. M. Species reported includes 7 species of owls, while not impossible,
quite unlikely. Also multiple species of passerines at 8:45 P. M.
Supposedly, 50 miles were traveled during the 30 minute birding. Which
means the observer traveled 100 or more miles per hour while birding, in
theory.
Ebirds limits are only concerned with bird species reported and their
rarity. There are no limits for time of day reported or how fast the
observer was travelling.
Ebird has potential to be quality but it has a long ways to go to get there.
