I hit several spots along Darby Creek looking for winter strays this morning, starting at Indian Ridge and working north to Cedar Ridge, the Teal Trail, and Kuhlwein Rd. The upland fields were largely devoid of birds, including the prairies at Indian Ridge and the Teal Trail, though I did have Harriers at both prairies. The creekside forest and ravines were much more birdy, with lots of woodpeckers and flock birds. Notables included Pileated Woodpeckers at several spots, a Bluebird flock along the Terrace Trail, scattered E.Towhees, and small numbers of Tree Sparrows around the feeders at both Indian Ridge and Cedar Ridge, along with the expected flock birds and juncos. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
