I checked several areas near the Scioto River in downtown Columbus this morning, including Scioto Audubon, Berliner Park, and the Long St. Dam, as well as nearby Greenlawn cemetery. Not much in the way of early migrants other than the blackbirds & sparrows that were here before the cold snap. Interesting finds included: Cormorants - at least 30 were flocking in the pool above the Greenlawn dam Lesser Scaup - a few above the dam were unusual for this location Osprey - 1 was working over the old nest on the platform at Scioto Audubon Bald Eagle - 1 was sitting on the nest across the river from Berliner Park ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
