I had a good day today in E Mahoning Co., not too far from home.  I found 6 FOY birds.  Started in Poland Twp., had hooded mergansers, Am. kestrel, e. bluebird, and dark-eyed juncos.  Then I went to Evans L., which produced gadwalls, 34 lesser scaup, 6 buffleheads, 20 hooded mergansers, 5 common mergansers, 36 red-breasted mergansers, 4 c. loons, pied-billed grebes, great blue heron, 2 red-shouldered hawks, 2 red-tailed hawks, 10 Am. coots, killdeers, and n. mockingbird.  Last stop was at Pine L., which had 2 blue-winged teal, 11 n. shovelers, 11 gadwalls, 4 green-winged teal, 55 redheads, 7 ring-necked ducks, 9 hooded mergansers, 6 common mergansers, 8 red-breasted mergansers, c. loon, great blue heron, bald eagle (at nest), red-shouldered hawk, killdeer, herring gulls, an ad. lesser black-backed gull, tree swallow and Am. tree sparrow.   Craig Holt, Lowellville
