It has been suggested that the bird tail I found today nesting in a tree cavity might actually be a Barred owl instead of a Sharpie.  That makes sense, since we have many barred owls on the property.  The suggestion was from Vicki Derr, co-land owner and fellow birder.  
    The tail seemed too long to me, but it does make sense.  I put this out there for the two or three other birders who might be interested.
