*April 21* red-throated loon (as reported by others) gave excellent brief views (submerged 95% of the time) at the reservoir at Firestone Golf Course, NE corner of Warner and Harrington (short term parking on gravel drive off Warner). Firestone Park afforded chickadees coming to a hand bearing seed, and a downy walking up to our feet for fallen seed. Summit Lake hopping with loons, ruddys, red-br mergs, coot, scaup, buffehead, one shoveler. Long Lake had 2 Caspian terns, mute swan, summer plumage Bonaparte's gull. *Today* flock of pine warblers, several palm warblers, numerous Myrtles, one yellow warbler, solitary sandpiper, both kinglets (twp competing ruby-crowneds flashing full heads of red), and brief look at a Virgiia rail at the Beaver marsh, Ira Rd, CVNP. also 2 enormous snapping turtles, one in the rail habitat. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
