The 5th Annual Chagrin River Bird Quest is scheduled for September 13-14, 2019. This is a FREE 24 hour team-birding challenge to see how many birds can be identified within the Chagrin River Corridor IBA (the Chagrin River and its tributaries) from 4pm Friday until 4pm Saturday.  That’s  a lot of ground to cover in 24 hours, from Lake Erie in Eastlake down to Aurora, OH.  It culminates at West Woods Nature Center (Russell Township OH Rt 87) from 4pm – 6pm with submission of checklists, celebrating with hearty appetizers and beverages, and awarding of prizes.  Prizes are available in serious categories (like greatest number of bird species seen) and humorous categories (team names, team hats, etc.).  Kids of all ages welcomed.

Put together a team, decide on a team name, then register online at https://clevelandaudubon.org/?page_id=4455 . Teams from past years can use the same name.  Pick up your FREE T-shirt, checklist and list of birding locations on Friday September 13th from 4-6pm at either West Woods Nature Center (Russell  Township) or the Audubon Novak Education Center (Aurora).  Directions available when you register online.

NEWER BIRDERS!  There will be a FREE Introduction to Birding Workshop on Sunday, September 8th from 1-4pm at Holden Arboretum Corning Visitor Center.  Register for this FREE workshop at the same time you register your team at https://clevelandaudubon.org/?page_id=4455.  There will also be guided walks on Saturday morning for those who are interested.  Times and locations available at registration.

See you in September!
