My thanks to all who replied to my post.  Hopefully somebody from one of the organizations will email me back.

Happy birding and God Bless,

Hey everyone.

I am putting this out there because there are many on this list that are part of the environmental reclamation community.

After many years, my parents are closing the golf course in New Bloomington (Windy Acres).  Mom sad that they would love it if someone wanted to buy it and revert it back to a grassland/wetland habitat.  The land that is available is the original course and house and 3 barns. (about 50 acres I think) there are a couple of ponds, and a few mature nut trees.  Mom and Ray have tried to get in touch with Ducks Unlimited, and the state.  But no one returns their calls.

I used to bird the grassland area above the course and had Grasshopper sparrows yearly.  I'm sure the woods in the back hold a lot of spring migrants...and Big Island Wildlife area butts up against it and is across the road.  Mom said she also has had Bobolinks in the grassland above the course...but I never was able to get over there and confirm.

So if anyone is interested, or can get in touch with someone who would be interested, email me and I can get you the realtor info.

Thanks,

Steve J.
