Blackbirds have definitely been on the increase in northeast Ohio as well.  In Lorain County we’ve been having flocks of Red-winged and Rusty Blackbirds, Brown-headed Cowbirds, Common Grackles, and Euro Starlings gathering at dusk in the Lorain Impoundment.  A male Yellow-headed Blackbird also continues to appear in this mix since being discovered by another birder on or about 2/3/2020 – I viewed it the evening of 2/23.

Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.

This morning we had a small flock of redwings come through Port Clinton. They were singing up a storm! Yesterday, I had one in the front yard on my feeder. We’re expecting heavy snow tonight and tomorrow...hope that doesn’t shut them down....
