For the last couple of years, some red-wing BB have stayed around all winter. Including this year.
But in the past, my records show the first ones being seen always close to Feb 14.

Here in Fairlawn, Summit County w of Akron, heard the familiar call of a redwing BB this PM and followed it to a bird perched in a tree above a stream/ditch at the edge of the golf course.  Saw no red, too far away.  Usually they arrive after Grackles around here, no Grackles yet, so it seems very early.
