Summer has definitely settled over these 2 hotspots southeast of Columbus.   Stops yesterday yielded little in the way of late migrants, but lots of unexpected residents.   Neither place was very buggy yet, but that's probably not far off with the combo of rain & temperatures that we're now getting.   Water levels at several of the Pick Pond wetlands were high, so shorebirds and waders were pretty scarce.  Notables for both spots included:

Raptors - Osprey still on both platforms at Pick Ponds, but Eagle nest looked abandoned.   Blacklick had a calling Red-shouldered, and a hunting Barred Owl.   I heard a begging Barred juvenile along the Maple Trail loop, but couldn't find it.

Waterfowl - virtually nil at Pick Ponds other than a few Geese, Mallards, and calling Pied-billed Grebes.   Vegetation growth is high and could be hiding more stuff.

Woodpeckers - still lots at Blacklick Woods.   Naturalist reported a Red-headed coming to Nature Center feeders, but I couldn't relocate it.

Flycatchers - all the regulars are in, but couldn't find any obvious late migrants.   Willows quiet at Pick Ponds, so they may be nest-building now.

Vireos - had calling White-eyed at both parks, along with several Red-eyed in unexpected locations (Wood Duck picnic area), so they may still be on the move.

Thrushes - nothing but Woods at Blacklick
Mimids - aside from the usual horde of Catbirds also had Thrashers at Pick Ponds and nearby Sycamore Creek Park

Warblers - Yellows, ComYellowthroats,  Yellow-throated (2 at Blacklick)

Tanagers - singing Scarlet at Sycamore Creek Park near Pick Ponds, but more unusual was a singing Summer at Blacklick Woods (in the reservable picnic areas)

Grosbeaks - singing Rose-breasted at Sycamore Creek Park (a reliable spot for them) and near the Nature Center at Blacklick Woods (an unexpected spot).

Orioles - Baltimores at Sycamore Creek Park, and singing Orchard at Wood Duck picnic area at Pick Ponds.

Chat - 1 was singing around the headquarters at Pick Ponds, across from the Wright Rd parking lot.
