There are many reasons birders visit the Ohio Birding Hotspots website sponsored by the Ohio Ornithological Society.
One reason is to view Ohio Notable Sightings, a listing of rare or unusual birds reported to eBird in the past 7 days.
Adam Jackson, the web wizard behind the development of the new website, has just installed an updated version. You can find it at the bottom of the Ohio main page and on every county page. There is a link at the top of each page that will take you there.

Notable Sightings lists all the rare and unusual bird species reported, the newest first. You can click on the species to see where the bird was reported, look at the eBird checklist, and open Google maps to get directions. There are icons to let you know if there is a photo with the checklists and a checkmark to indicate if the sighting has been reviewed and confirmed.

When you view Notable Sightings on a county page, the list shows only the birds reported in that county. It is a great way to learn what rare or unusual birds have been reported in your county.
