The .forward file in Unix is actually not part of PINE. PINE is just a mail reader, it doesn't actually process or deliver any of the mail (I think). SENDMAIL is actually the program that delivers (and forwards) mail on a Unix system. MIAVX1 doesn't run SENDMAIL. Instead we use the native mail delivery system that comes with OpenVMS (plus a few extra programs like PMDF and Jnet to help us deliver to non-Dec networks like TCP/IP and BITNET). Therefore, you need to tell VMS to forward your mail, not PINE. You can do this as follows: $ MAIL EMAIL> SET FORWARD [log in to unmask] EMAIL> EXIT $ -- Kent Covert, Software Coordinator Miami Computing and Information Services Miami University, Oxford, OH [log in to unmask] (internet) kacovert@miavx1 (bitnet)
