Now that this list has added members I would be curious as to what
direction its discussions will be trending. Thus far, most of the posts
seem to be related to the social history of the temperance movement, and
academic courses in alcohol and alcohol abuse from a sociological
standpoint. This is certainly valid, but I am wondering whether there are
any persons on the list with an interest in the material culture of liquor
(i.e., historic bar and saloon fixtures, furniture and equipment), 16th
through 19th century liquors and drink recipes, the role of women in bar
and saloon management, etc. As a museum professional these are the elements
that we use to compose exhibitions and publications for the general public.

If this is not an interest of the list, is anyone aware of any lists that
trend in this direction (excepting the many beer related lists).

Thanks.
