Although I have not identified any drink/temperance sessions in the
program for the Toronto meeting of the Organization of American
Historians, 22-25 April 1999, I did notice two papers in two separate
sessions. They are as follows:

Leslie Dunlap (Northwestern Univ.), "Turn to the White: The Family
and Race Politics of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union,
1885-1925"

Mariana Valverde (Univ. of Toronto Centre of Criminology), "From the
Demon Rum to Rational Recreation: Liquor Control Systems in
Comparative Perspective, 1914-1930s"
