I'd have to go with adverb modifying the predicate adjective 'hot,' though a case could be made for 'blazing' to be part of the progressive verb "is blazing." When I hear the sentence, though, I don't get the sense of the sun performing the action of 'blazing.'

Dear List,
In the sentence "The sun is usually blazing hot," how would you analyze "blazing"?
Thanks,
Scott
