Our ability to delude ourselves may be an important survival tool.  
Puritanism is the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.  
Those who are clever, who have a Brain, never understand anything.  
Never ascribe to an opponent motives meaner than your own.   
Don't overestimate the decency of the human race.     
If one has not given everything, one has given nothing.   
He that climbs the tall tree has won right to the fruit.
