On a quick walk at the Hoover Boardwalk (Franklin Co., north end of
Hoover near Galena) Grertchen Fluke and I saw the following birds
from 8-9:30:
Killdeer
Least Sandpiper (many)
Lesser Yellowlegs
Stilt sandpiper (1)
BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER (2)
Semi-palmated plovers
Great Blue Herons
Belted Kingfisher
Starlings
Robins
There wasn't a great variety of shorebirds, but, the buff-breasteds
and the stilt were real nice. And, what a beautiful morning. And,
morning is the best time of day for the boardwalk - as the sun is
behind you.
