A female or 1st year male Purple Finch is being seen at the birdbath. I
first saw it Sunday, drinking water that I spray on the leaves for the birds
and butterflies (ignoring feeders). When I first saw it, I thought that I
might be seeing things, but today, it was at the birdbath - a definite
Purple Finch. Not many Sept. records for Cincinnati.
Had a Red-breasted Nuthatch at the feeder on Aug. 29th, but it must have
moved on. I think it is going to be a good invasion year. Pine Siskins
will be next here.
