I spent a few morning hours hiking through this Franklin County MetroPark and along the nearby Alum Creek bikepath. I focused on the area around Schrock Lake in Sharon Woods, and between Cherrington and Alum Creek Parks along the bikepath. Migrant fallout was modest and mostly early in the morning; later, birds seemed to melt into the foliage. Migrant highlights included:
Flycatchers: 3-4 E.Phoebes, 3 Pewees, 1 Acadian, 1 GreatCrested
Swallows, Swifts - 1 Barn, 1 Tree, 10-12 Chimney Swifts
Red-br.Nuthatch - yet another 1(at SharonWoods)
Vireos - 5+ Warbling, 3-4 Red-eyed
Thrushes - 12+ Swainson's, 1 Veery
Mimids - 20+ Catbirds, 1 Brown Thrasher (SW), 1 Mockingbird (ACB)
Warblers - 12 species: Tenn (4), Nashville, CapeMay, Bl.-thr.Green, Magnolia(5), Chesnut-sided, Blackpoll, Bay-br., Redstart(7+), Ovenbird, Wilson's, Common Yellowthroat
Grosbeask-Buntings - a few Indigo Buntings along the bikepath
