A single female greeted me as I walked out the front door of our office to go to lunch today.
She wasn't a bit shy, flitting from branch to branch in a pin oak tree as I stood about 10 feet away.
I was lucky on a couple counts - 1. she was a new life-bird for me, and 2. no one pulled into the driveway and ran me over as I stood there totally fascinated for 2 or 3 minutes! LOL
Thanks to my bird-buddy Micki, and my National Geographic field guide, for aiding in a positive ID.
Happy birding!
Kate
