My Husband and I were out near Middlefield and decided to check Hayes Rd. for Rough-legs. From 11AM - 1:00PM we were thoroughly entertained.
Rough-legs- 6 ( 3 light-phase, 3 dark phase )
Red-shouldered-1
Coopers-1
Red-tail-6
Northern Harrier- 1 (F)
Kestrel-2
Bluebirds-5
Mute Swans-3
Horned Larks-37
The best entertainment was this light phase Rough-leg chasing this Kestrel ( south of 87 on Hayes Rd. ) and north of 87 on Hayes Rd. in an open field, a Light phase Rough-leg, Red-tail and Harrier chasing each other around. Most buteos were perched today; many on the ground eating prey.
