Hi all---I was at Lake DePue in north-central Illinois this weekend. I was hoping to see an Am. white pelican there, but not expecting it in late June. I was surprised to see 30+ birds there!! A friend of mine from Wisconsin said they have just started nesting at the lake she lives on there in the last couple years. So it does seem something is afoot with this species. As for the brown pelican at Berlin Res., has this bird been confirmed yet? If not, I will go over there and check it out. Later, Craig
