Firefly Hollow
Little Hocking, OH
As I came across the downtown bridge in Parkersburg, WV today at 2:30pm I
scanned the adjacent train trestle for the peregrine falcon. I was
pleasantly surprised to see two peregrines sharing the same cross brace
about midway across the bridge. This is the first time I have seen two at
the same time. It's been a cold blustery day here in the 40's with spits of
rain occasionally. I was in Marietta at a landscape business' annual fall
auction. I picked up a beautyberry bush for the birds. I also have a nice
clump of whitespire birches to go down by the creek. That ought to become a
popular hangout for the birds.
