Rich Aracil and I were out at Findlay Res Hancock County this evening. We again had at least 6 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS, however a slightly different mix of them with 3 2nd cycle birds, 1 3rd cycle, and at least 2 adults. Again with how skittish the gulls are and how much they move around these are minimum numbers, I also might have had a 1st cycle bird, but distance precluded confidence in this. Also had a rather interesting adult gull that was most likely a LESSER BLACK-BACKED x HERRING hybrid. The bird looked for the most part like a Lesser Black-backed, except its mantle shade was closer to an American Herring Gull. The structure and amount of head streaking indicates LBBG over something more exotic. Also present were continuing Horned Grebes, C Loon, and some newly arrived 16 Canvasbacks. Good birding
