Hi All,
I have what I'm quite sure is a juvenile White Winged Crossbill coming to my window feeder! It's a life bird for me, so I'm not 100% sure, but it's the size of a plump house finch, 2 prominent white blotches on the wings, quite streaked tan and grey shades, crossed bill and a slight haze of golden yellow on the breast. I'm getting quite good looks at it as it is hanging around close to the house; I'm actually a little concerned that it isn't feeling well as I watch it. It's eating sunflower chips.
This after I drove around countless times last winter trying to find one when everyone was seeing them, and striking out!
I'll post pics later on the forum if I can get some.
