March 13 - 11am-2:30pm:
Along the lakefront, any unprotected water was covered by broken ice,
nearshore to ~100' out, with ring-billed gulls standing on it, bobbing up and
down on the waves.
Edgewater - breakwall/put-in west of the WWTP:
Red breasted merganser - 1
Hooded mergansers - 7
Ringneck - 1
Buffleheads - 4
Scaup - 2
Mallards - 4
Geese - 2
Ring-billed gulls - Too many to count
East 55th:
Nothing besides ring-billed gulls, that I could see
East 72nd - section of open water near shore, surrounded by floating ice:
Redheads - 27
Canvasbacks - 7
Scaup - 3
Mallards - 2
One swan with dark bill - juvenile mute probably? - standing on ice
In distance - Black ducks? - 2
Ring-billed gulls - Too many to count
Whiskey Island beach:
Buffleheads - 10
Song sparrows - 7 in scrub by beach
Cuyahoga River mouth:
Nothing on the water (bridge to lake), and just a few ring-bills flying
