Today at the Park I didn't have much time to bird, but I made the most of the time I did have. Had about 78 species for the day. On the drive into the park in the scub between Meadows Picnic area and the reservable area I heard a buzzin' GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER that I had to pull over and get a peek at. Always a good bird, they've been everywhere around the state lately! Also had many of the same birds as yesterday like Black-throated Blue Warblers and lots of Swainson's Thrush, but added a flock of Cedar Waxwings and some others. Highlights below:
Acadian Flycatcher - Beech Trail
Golden-winged Warbler - along the drive in near Meadows Picnic area
Kentucky Warbler - Multi-use trail near maintenance area
Northern Parula - Beech Trail, Buttonbush Trail
Blackburnian Warbler - Beech Trail
Black-throated Blue Warbler - Beech Trail, Buttonbush Tr.
Bay-breasted Warblers - Beech Trail
Magnolia Warbler - Beech Trail
Ovenbird - Beech Trail
Hooded Warbler - Beech and Maple Trails
American Redstart - Beech Trail
Scarlet Tanagers
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Common Night hawks on the way out.
