Well with the weather wet today, I decided to stay at home and keep dry,
sorting pictures. While taking a break, I went upstairs to my new
favorite birding spot just in time to see a female purple finch heading
up the branches of my Lilac "bush". Eye stripe and bill were deciding
factors...now if I could just get the males to come in!...actually they
are probably here, I just have to sort it out from all of the house
finches! :-D I'm just not seeing anything that would scream male purple
finch.
I am also getting an orange variant house finch...It has been here a
while, but I had assumed that it would eventually turn red, but it hasn't.
I did get a pic or two of the female purple. The best one is here:

If someone wants to Verify, as my eyes tent to trick me, please do so. :-)
Have a great day,
Steve J.
