I am probably not the only birder who takes a break from birding in the
summer to coach baseball, attend BBQ's etc.
This past weekend the family and I took a wonderful canoe ride down the
Tuscarawas river @ Canal Fulton in Stark County.
Although I did not go with the intenions of birding, the local birds
cooperated anyway. Nothing spectacular to report, but canoeing the river
and getting up close views of Kingfishers, Pewee's, Wood Thrush, Spotted
Sandpipers and the highlight...an Osprey really added to the trip.
While I am not associated with any canoe service, I do suggest this type
of trip to view some of our summer residents.
Good birding.
