Greetings from the northwest!
As we drove along Township Road 162 looking for Snow Buntings late this morning, Micki and I spotted a large white bird sitting along the road. Now the majority of large, white birds sitting along a road this time of year would be Snowy Owls, and this one was no exception. The bird flew in front of us and back south about a quarter of mile, landing near the border between a wheat field and another field to the south. It remained there when we left if about thirty minutes ago.
Location: 1/4 mile south of Township Road 162, about 1 3/4 miles west of U.S. 127. Road 162 is located about a mile north of the village of Paulding. Township Road 162 is one mile south of the Lafarge Cement Plant for those who like large landmarks.
Bird long and prosper,
Doug & Micki Dunakin
Antwerp, O.
