To add to Kenn's comments regarding the "Duck Stamp" I want to point out
that there is a very good biography of J. N. "Ding" Darling, creator of
not only the Duck Stamp but also the National Wildlife Refuge program.
On the Ding Darling Foundation website:
http://www.dingdarling.org/index.html, if you check the section, "About
the Man" there is a link to his biography, "Ding: THE LIFE OF JAY
NORWOOD DARLING," written by David L. Lendt and published by the
University of Iowa Press. This biography provides great insight not only
about Ding Darling but about the creation of the conservation program in
the US.
