I decided to go to Lake View Cemetery today in the Cleveland area between Mayfield Rd & Euclid Ave as where I normally go in the winter doesn't have many landbirds and I was tired of killing myself on the ice near the lake. I was there around 12:30pm til 3pm. After last winter (Redpolls, Crossbills, Siskins) I wasn't sure what I would see in the sweetgum trees and I didn't see anything in them. I did see a Gray Catbird in the area in the east south-east area of the cemetery between the curved road and the pine groves. Last year I would consistently see Mockingbirds, Towhees and a Fox Sparrow in that area but today I saw the Catbird from my car just west of the pine grove area in a bush. Not able to get a picture quick enough. Also seen many Dark-eyed Juncos (47) Hairy Woodpeckers (2) one Flicker, six White-throated Sparrows, Great Blue Heron on the ice southeast of Wade Chapel, Cooper's Hawk, pair of Red-tailed Hawks screaming
loudly and landing in various trees together west end of cemetery. I missed the Red-headed Woodpeckers and Towhee. I ran into a very nice and helpful birdwatcher (Colleen) driving through who lives nearby and goes there frequently and she said she regularly sees the Red-headed Woodpeckers whenever they go there (walking) and saw one yesterday and the Towhee in the area where I saw the Catbird today.
