This morning, Nimisila had green herons, house wren, and five warblers. Osprey, red-shouldered hawk, mourning dove, and red- winged blackbird were all carrying nest material.
On the home front, we live on a city street, across from the Wheeling & Lake Erie. Behind that is the Ohio Edison campus. We are maybe two miles from farm land.
Last May, I heard a bluebird along the wires. A few weeks ago I put up two nest boxes, one at each end of a low creek area that doesn't appear to get mowed. Today, a male was sitting on one of the boxes!
