Thursday, Sept. 11 - 8:45 to 10:30 a.m.
A little more water and an open viewing area (many thanks to the park
employees) have made this morning a good one. More shorebirds have arrived and
there was lots of activity on the mudflats. Species seen:
Bald eagles - 1 ad, 1 imm
Solitary sps
Lesser yellowlegs
Greater yellowlegs
Semipalmated sps
American avocets
Pectoral sps
Stilt sp
Killdeers
Belted kingfishers
DC cormorants
Great egrets - 14
Great blue herons
Wood ducks - many
Mallards
Canada geese
Green-backed heron - North Park
