Stage's Pond State Nature Preserve in Pickaway County is hosting 17!!!
Greater White-fronted Geese and about 60 CAGO's. They were seen on the
small pond complex shortly before 1 p.m. today. I personally have never
seen so many in one place at the same time. They were a mix of adults and
juveniles. The small ponds are accessed from the main entrance off of
Hagerty Road. Go back to the large parking lot, then walk a short distance
to the observation blind. A scope would be helpful but they can be seen
and identified with binoculars.
I was out in the rain trying to find a Red-breasted Nuthatch. Has anyone
seen one in Pickaway County? I need one for my Big Year.
