It's always special to see a Peregrine Falcon in rural Geauga County, but
today even more so as the falcon "went duck hunting" on LaDue Reservoir.
Pictures on my Flickr page at https://www.flickr.com/photos/85567104@N05/.
The Peregrine first made two passes over the islands near the boathouse
without success so it headed out over the lake to harass a flock of Coots
and Ruddy Ducks. It would make passes over the birds, I guess to try to
make one fly. The ducks were having none of it! Instead, when it got too
close all the ducks would dive under water together. This went on for
about 5 minutes until the falcon figured this was not going to work, and it
flew to the other side of the lake.
