This should really be titled a little bit of AlumCreek Lake and a lot of Hoover Reservoir. I stopped for an hour at New Galena at Alum Creek Lake, then spent the rest of the morning scouting places along Hoover. There was still some movement of 'migrants', including:
Tundra Swans - several small groups, totaling 26 birds, flew south over New Galena around 8:45 AM
DivingDucks - small flocks of Scaup and Buffleheads were on both reservoirs at several spots. Hoover also had a few Ruddy Ducks above the dam.
DabblingDucks - not much other than small flocks of Mallards. A lone Gadwall was with 60 Mallards at Hoover Dam
OtherWaterfowl- Horned Grebes were at both reservoirs, and Hoover had 3 Pied-bills above the dam. Cormorants were on Hoover at Sunbury Causeway and at the dam
TurkeyVultures - there were still 3 floating over the Sunbury Causeway at Hoover
hawks - quite a few Red-tailed Hawks have moved into these areas, with 6-7 over the morning
Gulls - big flocks of Ring-bills and Herring on Alum Creek Lake, off the dam early, but they steadily left to the south. Hoover had fewer Herring, but had many Bonapartes, topped by 70+ on the mudflats around Area N
Sparrows - small #s of Tree Sparrows at several spots. Also had Fox Sparrow (New Galena) and Swamp Sparrow (Hoover Dam spillway)
Blackbirds - migrant flocks at several spots, topped by 180+ moving south over New Galena (which included 170 Redwings and 10 Rusty Blackbirds)
