On Saturday Carl Winstead reported two Lesser Black-backed Gulls at the beach at Deer Creek State Park in Pickaway County. I attempted to chase those birds yesterday (Sunday) but the beach had been taken over by model airplanes, which were the only things flying. There were no birds in sight.
I went back this afternoon and found one LBBG along with 275 Ring-billed Gulls. Surprisingly, although I checked carefully, I found no Herring Gulls. The only shorebirds were two Killdeer.
