I was successful this morning in seeing 2 Sedge Wrens at the Land Lab just N of Granville. Ohio bird and the best & longest views of this species for me. V pretty bird & great song.
Hearing anything was a challenge due to mowing & machinery noise but I could still make out Sedge Wrens singing above the roar.
I heard one particularly vocal bird for awhile but had to wander around to find a good viewing area where it eventually perched up nicely for me. Even got some decent photos before it dove back into deep cover.
Then I heard a second bird whose song had a more buzzy quality to it but only got a couple glimpses of that bird in flight & as it dove into cover.
Also saw a couple Bobolinks, either females or in nonbreeding plumage.
Saw 1, possibly 2, adult Red-headed Woodpeckers and one juvenile.
Large flock of E Meadowlarks.
No shorebirds at the pond.
Only raptor was a Coopers Hawk.
