I stopped here first on my way to caeser creek - Warren. Its another big
reservoir. Not as deep a lake though. It was mostly frozen. But one section
off the beach was open. And the waterfowl were there! Highlights being
Common Mergs, Ruddy ducks, Hooded mergs, and Pintails.
I enjoyed the backroads as I drove to Caeser Creek - Warren. I stopped when
I could to scan fields. Not often! Hardly any shoulder to pull off on. No Horned
Larks. They should be around.
Caeser Creek was open water. A deeper lake. And a few hundred waterfowl
species! At the far north end. Joy. Too far at Harveysburg rd. I tried finding
access from the north end. Couldn't find any. Although the new burlington
rd. area was interesting. Lots of grass and mowed crop fields to explore.
No Red breasted Nuthatches down here. Send them south!
I had few Kestrels as I drove. Mainly Red tailed and Red shouldered. Which
is not my norm for open areas.
Tried Armleder - Hamilton when I got home. A dusk watch. No great horned owl....
So much for having that predicted here!
Good birding all.
