Thanks to those who sent advice! And other locations around! It took an
hour, but I finally came across some singing. 10:25am. Bird 201 for the SW ohio
big year. A ways to go yet....
It was about 1/2 mile stretch of road that looks good for grassland nesters.
One side grass. The other side - weeds, shrubs, etc. Meadowlark there also.
And Field Sparrows. One had a blade of grass in its beak. Second nest I
presume!
Lots of species still singing. And stuff moving around. Like a family group
of RH Woodpeckers. I like them!
Off hitting a few spots for dragonflies. Then home.
July will be missing marsh birds I need. And chasing. I probably
should chase the Common Loon in Butler. But I should.... get in the
fall.
Loads of both Vultures around. I kept looking up for Kite.
Nature notes - I too had a Vole. The ARC nature trail area along Skeen.
Cute!
Good birding all.
