Hi all,
For anyone who has interest in maybe adding a new species to their Portage County list, there is a pretty large roost of Cormorants happening now at the north bay of Walborn Reservoir on the north side of German Church Rd.
A Neotropic Cormorant recently spent weeks at a roost just a bit south in Stark County, representing a first county record. It is very possible that this bird is roosting with the large (100-200 at least) group of Double-crested currently here. They are in many trees and snags as you scope north from German Church Rd. as well as swimming.
If you try, good luck!
