I've noticed this a couple of times.  I'm investigating it.  The command
SHOW ALLITEMS seems to clear up this problem.  In addition, you may have to
issue the command SET PROFILE/DISPLAY=ALLITEMS if it seems to be affecting
all newsgroups.
