I was waiting hoping that someone else would answer this first. Since they
haven't, I'll give a shot...
To fully utilize Kermit, you need a version of Kermit that supports large
packets and sliding windows. MCIS is currently investigating such a
version, but we have not started delivering it as of yet. If you own a
version of Kermit (or another terminal emulator) that handles large packets
and sliding windows, you should be able to set the appropriate parameters
on your program to get the better speeds.
