The campus broadband network is currently being tuned and certified
by Miami University Physical Facilities. This process consists of retuning
the frequencies used to transmit data across the broadband cable
infrastructure, which is susceptible to temperature changes and other such
environmental factors.
During this process, Hoyt Hall (which houses the centrally managed,
multiuser MiamiU and MiaVX1 systems as well as other networked resources)
is operating on a backup T1 link to Robertson Hall. This backup T1 link
may appear noticeably slower than the normal broadband cable.
The tuning process began Thursday (8 June) and is expected to continue
at least through today (Monday, 12 June).
