Well, it seems that the old news reader, for scrolling down in the text,
would send ANSI (ok,
ok.. VT-102) codes to scroll the lines up, add a blank at the bottom, and then
it would put the
new line in the blank.. Very efficient use of VT-100..
Now it seems that this new and improved reader does not use VT-xx codes (I
even changed over
to VT-220 and set terminal/inquire'd) to scroll the text, but rather just
reprints the whole
screen from line 1 (or wherever it started). Very inefficient.
Hopefully this feature will be put back in..
