I once drove a few miles off my route to visit Charles Bishop. He
lived in a large-ish old house filled with drink and temperance
books, posters, and the like. I understand he also ran a general
bookstore in Wheeling, WVA. Wasn't there a post a year or two ago
about Brown University acquiring a major collection of drink
materials from him? I think that it was to be integrated in the
library collections and not kept as a distinct collection.
