At a recent Math Ed. Committee meeting you reported that about 10%
of the Elementary Ed majors are choosing a concentration in
mathematics.  Going through my files, I came across the following
data, supplied by Phyllis (Crow) Mendenhall.
 
     1993:    7 students (data may be incomplete)
     1994:  16 students
     1995:  14 students
 
You did not report the base on which your 10% figure was obtained,
but the numbers for 1996-97 are probably consistent with those of the
past several years.
